“Ubi Sunt” project deals with the relationship between the house and its memory in a light-based installation. The work features the house’s interior painted with electroluminescent dyes in an abandoned space, loaded with photons through flashing light, illuminating the surroundings for a period of time and then gradually darkening. In this scenario, light, object and event operate outside the everyday. Objects are no longer passive things on which light is shone, nor still things simply perceived by the viewer. Just like luminant creatures, they keep the light in their memory for a while, illuminate the environment with their own lights, have a time of appearing, and a kind of temporality. The enlightenment of the object and the appearance of the object co-exist in the same moment. Just like a flash of lightning, what appears and the light itself occurs on the same sight.
